The Thanksgiving holiday offers most of us a chance to reflect on the things we appreciate. To say we have appreciation for the encouragement we have received since we have embarked upon the mission of bringing quality food to tables in our community is an understatement. Food brings people together, and we are thrilled to be a part of that togetherness.
I could list a thousand things, ranging from big to small, I am grateful for today. If you are reading this blog post, you are high on the list! I had the most pleasant chat with a customer this week regarding gratitude. She explained to me how she was grateful for even the most simple of things that take place in her life daily. She went on to give the "for instance" of having her morning cup of coffee. I agreed, a day without the ritual-like first sip of coffee would be pretty crummy. The conversation left an impression on me, as did the lady's genuine thoughts on living in gratitude.
Life is not perfect, and sometimes it is unbelievably hard. Practice gratitude even when it may seem all you have to be grateful for is something as simple as a cup of coffee. Today, I am most thankful for the health of my family and to be able to enjoy their company at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner. There are so many (some of whom are very dear to our hearts) who are spending the holiday with an empty chair at their table.
This year, I implore you to be as fancy as you want or as practical as you want, but cherish every moment you have with those you love. This is the season of gratitude, and it primes our hearts for giving and rejoicing in the birth of Jesus Christ. It's just that simple.
From our family to yours,
Happy Thanksgiving!
